Chess on Mondays!
The game of chess helps children learn to concentrate, think logically, overcome obstacles, spot patterns and categorize information.
It helps with the development of problem-solving skills, planning, patience, focus of thought and self-discipline.
Research backs up the educational benefits of chess: an American study of 3,000 students showed that playing chess led to higher grades in English and Maths. It also encourages problem-solving, sportsmanship and self-esteem, often allowing quieter children to shine.
Debating Club on Mondays!
The debating club gives the students of all abilities a fun way of developing their orator and debating skills.
It also enriches their critical thinking and communication skills, and instils a sense of deep confidence in them.
Debate club is also a means for the children to become more informed about the world around them.
Soccer on Tuesdays!
Soccer club is run by “Soccer Shots of Dupage County”.
Robotics on Tuesdays!
In today’s’ technology-driven world, it’s important now more than ever to prepare students for the future.
Teaching robotics to young students, can increase their ability to be creative and innovative thinkers and more productive members of society.
Dance Club on Wednesdays!
Shake a leg and have tons of fun!
Learn how to dance contemporary, hip-hop, step, tap, west african, and more, from a fun-fun- fun dancer!
Dance while being a fun activity, develops creative movement in children.
Dance nurtures the child’s talent and sparks creativity. Creative movement positively impact a child’s physical, emotional, and mental health. Plus dancing is a fun way to release energy and excitement!
Cooking on Wednesdays!
Spending time cooking new recipes helps children to develop a positive connection to all different types of foods including fruits and vegetables. Forming a positive experience with fresh foods is so important because healthy foods are the foundation for good nutrition. Children will also learn basic cooking skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
Cooking with kids provides practical experience with many essential skills such as reading, following directions, and measuring. Getting involved in cooking helps your child to develop fine motor skills, eye hand coordination, and even early concepts of math and science.
Theatre on Thursdays!
Theatre is not only a magical way to entertain children, but it nurtures the most important attribute children have – IMAGINATION!
All children have a natural desire to dress up and play games. They can create scenarios out of anything around them, without the need of expensive toys. Armed with the most basic props and their imagination, children can create entire magical worlds to play in, without judgement on themselves or each other.
